ANTONELLA PIZZAMIGLIO
Antonella got off to start as a professional photographer and in her evolutionary and professional path through associating her work with the “magic of living”.
After what she herself defines as the art of learning, she began working in cinema as a stage photographer towards the end of the 1980s, collaborating with the likes of Marcello Mastroianni, Renato Pozzetto, Francesca Archibugi, Neri Parenti and many others.
After this parenthesis in the world of theater, she embraced the project “Photography beyond Purpose” in which she dedicated her work to aid for socially emarginated people during a four year long period at the former Psychiatric Hospital of Trieste.
Her dedication to social work reached its highest expression in a 1989 reportage shot in Leros, Greece on the scene of what has been defined as the worst mental asylum ever to be discovered in the world. The exposé helped lead to the intervention of the European Union who eventually financed a relief project, changing the fate of thousands of people.
Subsequent her long-standing experience in advertising photography, she founded ARTESTUDIO SRL, specializing in photography for major Italian and foreign industries.
As it often happens with professional photographers who live creating images, Antonella also cultivates in the private sector, in research characterized by strong and original expressive connotations. On the one hand, this shows the kind of self-confidence of those who can exploit their skills to satisfy a need for the creative, on the other, a curiosity that pushes one to investigate right into the meanders of photographic language.
Her photographs can be a bit unsettling, but even a bit magical; in shooting portraits which depict aspects of everyday life, she proposes them in such a way as to bring out a fresh but intimate feeling atmosphere.

Per chi si chiede, “Ma chi è quel fotografo?!”, ecco i link ai suoi siti web e alcune informazione su di lei!
Fotografa di professione, segue il suo percorso evolutivo e professionale associando la fotografia alla “magia del vivere”.
Dopo quella che lei stessa definisce l’arte dell’apprendere, alla fine degli anni ’80 inizia a lavorare nel cinema come fotografa di scena collaborando con personaggi del calibro di Marcello Mastroianni, Renato Pozzetto, Francesca Archibugi, Neri Parenti e molti altri.
Una parentesi poi nel mondo del teatro per poi abbracciare il Progetto “La fotografia oltre la ragione” che la impegnerà in aiuto all’emarginazione per ben 4 anni presso l’allora Ospedale Psichiatrico di Trieste .
L’impegno nel sociale vedrà la sua massima espressione con un reportage realizzato nel 1989 a Leros (Grecia) in quello che è stato definito come il peggior manicomio mai visto al mondo. Quegli scatti-denuncia avrebbero permesso l’intervento della Comunità Europea che finanzierà nel 1990 un progetto che cambierà le sorti di migliaia di persone.
Pluridecennale la sua esperienza nella fotografia pubblicitaria, nel 1996 fonda ARTESTUDIO SRL, la fotografia nella comunicazione per aziende leader nel panorama industriale non solo italiano.
Come succede spesso ai fotografi professionisti che con le immagini convivono, Antonella inoltre coltiva nel privato una ricerca caratterizzata da forti e originali connotazioni espressive. Per un verso mostra la sicurezza propria di chi sa piegare la tecnica alle sue esigenze creative, per l’altro una curiosità che la spinge a indagare fin nei meandri del linguaggio fotografico.
Così, le sue fotografie sono spiazzanti e un po’ magiche perché, pur riprendendo aspetti della realtà quotidiana, ce li propone in un modo da far emergere una diversa, intima natura.
